The Power of Stand-alone Mapping
Bentley PowerMap provides powerful and precise geospatial data creation, maintenance and analysis. Users can easily integrate data from a wide variety of geospatial data sources into engineering and mapping workflows. Multiple data types with varying coordinate systems are also transformed ‘on-the-fly’ as they are integrated with Bentley PowerMap. Bentley PowerMap supports extensive spatial analysis, thematic mapping and presentation. These capabilities include tools for creating buffers and performing topology overlays. Bentley PowerMap is a stand-alone application and does not require MicroStation as a prerequisite.
The Power of Interoperability
Bentley PowerMap is a mapping application that contains tools for data collection, editing, clean up, analysis, and map printing. Bentley PowerMap allows direct design file editing including 3D editing. In addition to reading CAD files, Bentley PowerMap can also natively read ESRI SHP files as well as other industry-standard raster and vector file formats. Standard and spatial datasets can be accessed by Bentley PowerMap, including Oracle Spatial. All accessible data formats, without exception, can be interrogated spatially using a variety of analysis tools.
Powerful Standards
Bentley PowerMap includes an enhanced tool for modeling and defining geospatial features called the Geospatial Administrator. Included with Bentley PowerMap, the data administration tool lets users quickly define standards for GIS features, including attributes, symbology, and behaviors. This capability is made possible by leveraging XFM (XML-based feature modeling), which is completely customizable to support user-specific workflows and standardization for all types of spatial data.
