            RIPPER NOTES:
            OK some of you will cry out DOOP! DOOP!
            So let me explain why this isn’t a dupe…
            I’ll first assume that EliteMedia’s rip from way-back-then had
            no problems with it (*cough*)…
            EM used the first non-SE DVD, which came out in 1999, for their
            Oct ’00 rip. That DVD was mastered straight off the original
            audio/video elements of the 1975 film, with very little
            re-mastering or post-processing done. Among it’s many faults:
            – incorrect framing of the movie (A.R. is OFF at 1.66:1)
            – really horrible ugly master, glitches and dirt and film grain
              all over the place
            – plain ol’ mono audio, no dynamic range to speak of
            In 2001 the Monty Python production company decided to TOTALLY
            CLEAN up the audio/video, add in a few cut-off bits, and go
            for a *limited theatre re-release* in selected cinemas. Among the
            improvements:
            – mono sound totally remixed to snazzy DD 5.1
            – lots of nice restoration work done on the video master, of course
              some film grain was left behind for the “authentic” look
            – A.R. corrected to be 1.85:1
            – about a minute of new footage! Yes!
            This rip is made from the SPECIAL EDITION DVD, which was based on all
            the re-mastered elements of the 2001 theatrical re-release!
            I invite one of our quality-oriented counterparts in the SVCD scene
            to go on ahead and release an SVCD version of this flick. You should
            have no problems including 1 of the 2 comm. tracks and also a few of
            the extras, at the very least, Camelot Song in Lego!
            In conclusion… THIS IS NOT A DUPE.
